This feels like the first real week of the year, between the Holidays and being gone all of last week I was out of my normal routine. I can happily say I had a week of butt kicking workouts and I feel so good (well sore, but good)
Sunday: RIPPED DVD and a walk with the dogs
Monday: Turbo Fire HIIT DVD (it had been at least a year since I’d done Turbofire and I have been reminded of how hard it is. 350 calories in 30 minutes.)
Tuesday: Yoga Sculpt
Wednesday: Cardio and Weights
Thursday: Yoga Sculpt
Friday: Off
Saturday: Blogger Boot Camp and Brunch
With all of those hard workouts this week I needed some recovery tools. I am always looking for something new and improved to help keep me motivated during a workout and help me recover after. I push myself pretty hard and there are mornings that I am pretty darn sore!
I’ve found a few new-to-me products that have been really helping with workouts:
1) The Polar Loop and Bluetooth Heart Rate Strap. I seriously can not profess my love for this enough. Scott got me this for Christmas after my Fitbit took a journey through the washing machine and did not recover. The Loop is decently stylish, easy to hide under a sleeve and is such a great reminder to stay active. You can also purchase the bluetooth heart rate strap to really see what you are doing for workouts. I highly recommend it!
2) Ortholite Insoles. I like lower profile shoes but sometimes I need just a bit more cushioning. These are great in my Under Armour shoes right now. Nice and cushy and I even put a pair in my winter boots. (I received a sample of these, all opinions are my own)
3. My feet get beat up from workouts, yoga, wearing high heels and just living in such a cold place. Zim’s makes a great Heel and Foot Crème that really makes my feet soft. I put some on right after showering or right before bed with a pair of cozy socks. The Max Freeze works so well for tired, achy feet. Since I was on my feet 10+ hours each day last week buy the time I got home on Friday this really came in handy. (I received a sample of these, all opinions are my own)
4. Pure Protein Bars. My favorite post workout bar or afternoon snacks. These actually taste good, and not like dirt. Like so many protein bars! With 17 grams of protein and only 5 grams of sugar these are a really great option. (I received a sample of these, all opinions are my own)
5. Protein Shot. 3 ounces, around 120 calories and 28 grams of protein. Another very tasty post workout option. You can even get 1 in your liquids bag if you are traveling.
