Which Food Must Go?

By Fitfulfocus @fitfulfocus

Are ya’ll ready for some Tuesday #RockYourCore cardio today? High Knees with a Twist are on the calendar. More info on that and how you can win awesome prizes from Quest Nutrition, Gymboss Interval Timers, and Green Smoothie Co here

Alrighty, so it’s no secret that I love food, but when I saw this fun game on Rebecca’s blog, I started thinking about what life would be like without certain foods in my life. HORRIBLE is the answer. Simply horrible. But in the spirit of bringing some fun to the beginning of your week, I thought why not play it. The game is called: Which Food Must Go?

How do you play? You’re given a choice of three utterly amazing dishes and have to decide which one you’d live without FOR. EV. ER! GAH the horror! Ok, let’s play!

1. Pancakes, Waffles, or French Toast?

I’d eliminate French Toast, but only because I can make French Toast flavored pancakes and waffles. Bwahaha. Beating the system. Also, I love pancakes and have too many fond memories of making waffles with my grandpa to nix those babies.

2. Pie, Cake, or Brownies.

I’m going to have to say goodbye to cake here. Pies and brownies are delicious enough for me – though maybe I can make cake brownies or this Funfetti Cake “milkshake”? eh? I can always find a way to beat the system! I also love these Secret Ingredient Brownies too much to bid them farewell.

3. Curly Fries, Crinkle Cut Fries, or Steak Fries?

Goodbye steak fries. I like my fries to have some texture apparently.

4. Pizza, Pizza Rolls, or Bagel Bites?

Pizza Rolls get the axe on this one. The reason? I’ve never had them, so you can’t miss what you’ve never had, right? I will take some of this pizza right now, though:

5. Chocolate Chip Cookies, Sugar Cookies, or Peanut Butter Cookies?

I can’t have peanuts so the peanut butter cookies gotsta go. Bring on the sugar cookies!

6. Bacon, Sausage, or Ham?

Adios, Ham! I couldn’t live without my Pumpkin Maple Bacon Oats, and bratwurst is too delicious!

7. Mozzarella Sticks, Onion Rings, or Potato Skins?

I’m nixing the onion rings. I’ve never been a huge fan.

8. Lobster, Shrimp, or Crab?

So this one time my mom and I made lobster from scratch. We both screamed our heads off as we had to put the thing in boiling water. You’d have thought someone was killing us vs. us killing that poor lobster. Never again. No more lobster.

9. Barbecue Ribs, Hot Wings, or Mini Burger Sliders?

I’ll go with Mini Burger Sliders here as long as I can still have full sized burgers! Come to me Turkey Burger Deluxe!

10. Burritos, Quesadillas, or Tacos?

Hmmmmmmm. If I give up burritos, can I still have this burrito bowl? Or if I give up quesadillas, can I get away with making a crepe filled with cheese and shredded chicken? There’s always a loop hole, I tell you!

11. Buttermilk Biscuits, Cornbread, or Bread Rolls?

Buttermilk Biscuits. I’m getting cut throat now.

12. Beef, Chicken, or Pork?

Peace out, pork. I like beef. I adore chicken. Hello, you delicious chicken dish, you.

13. Coffee, Tea, or Energy Drinks?

Energy drinks. Done.

14. Skittles, Reese’s Pieces, or M&Ms?

Hmmmm this is tough. I already can’t eat Reese’s Pieces or M&Ms. Hershey and Mars, I now challenge you to create lactose-free, peanut free versions of these two treats. Whoever does so first wins!

15. Bagels, English Muffins, or Croissants?

English Muffins. Everything is better on a bagel or a flakey croissant. As long as said bagel and croissant are wheat and lactose-free…

16. Mac & Cheese, Lasagna, or Spaghetti & Meatballs?

My Mom’s Spaghetti & Meatballs are the bomb diggity (<— yup, just pulled out that blast from the past) as is this healthy faux version. Mac & Cheese wins out over lasagna because it’s easier to make.

17. Ice Cream, Milkshake, or Frozen Yogurt?

Ice Cream and Milkshakes win out here. They’re just too darn delicious! Plus, I like making healthy versions like this, this, and this.
