Beta Switch Review

Hello my Lovies,

Not so long ago, I bumped into a very interesting fitness/nutrition program called The Beta Switch. I’m subscribed to FitnessBlackBook, and I read every single email that he sends out. Thats how I found out about Beta Switch and it caught my attention, so I wanted to look more into it and do some research. I love finding new things because I want to evolve in the knowledge of nutrition/fitness, and I want to help others to reach their goals, especially the ones they struggle with the most. What caught my eye in this program, is that the target of it is to help women with their stubborn problem areas. Most of the questions I get asked is exactly about that, how can I get rid of my stubborn fat deposits?

The very little info that I found on the internet about The Beta Switch, got me intrigued so I contacted the creator of the program Sue Heintze, and asked her to please send me a copy for a review. She was kind enough to do that ( thank you Sue ).

Sue Heintze describes her self an an ordinary person, even though she wasn’t overweight, but she struggled with body image issues for most of her life, especially things like cellulite. She was always working out, being very active, but you could never tell she says, and she just wanted to look lean and athletic. So, she tried every diet in the book to lose her dimples, she did a lot of cardio and ate very little. She got burned out and that led her to another vicious cycle – binge eating. This experience helped her understand that Fad Diets don’t work long term.

But then she discovered several things about nutrition and exercise which turned that around. In a short time, she began to lose fat and cellulite while building lean muscle, and now she is in her 40’s, gave birth to her first child at 41, and is in the best shape of her life!

Since 2003 as a Body Transformation Specialist, Sue and her dedicated team have been helping thousands of others to achieve health, fitness, beautiful bodies and better life through nutrition and fitness. She has been a contributor to many publications such as Shape Magazine, Women’s Health and Fitness Magazine and Australia’s Women’s Weekly. She has also competed in natural figure competitions at State and National Level.

So, what is Beta Switch?

There are two types of adrenoreceptors in your fat cells that either speed up your fat loss, or completely stop it. These are beta and alpha. These adrenoreceptors control fat cell metabolism and blood flow into and out of the fat cell. Type that speeds up fat loss is called beta-receptors, as Sue puts it: Think beta for your Bodacious Bod! The type that slows or completely stops fat loss is called alpha-receptors. When they are active you will store more fat.

Both men and women have these receptors, but women have up to 9 times more of alpha receptors ( fat storing ) in their stubborn problem areas, such as thighs and butt. But, if you’re able to turn on your beta receptors, you will lose fat at a much faster rate, without the usual struggle.

The thing that I love about Sues program, is the same concept I use in my approach, you are allowed a daily indulgence ( oink oink ) and a few splurge meals every week ( oink oink oink ).

What keeps your Beta Switch On:

Healthy thyroid hormone levels ( hormone that drives your metabolism )

Healthy leptin levels ( the hormone that tells your brain to shut off your appetite )

Avoidance of insulin spikes ( hormone that manages sugar levels )

Healthy levels of estrogen ( a natural female hormone )

What shuts off your Beta Switch:

Low thyroid

Low leptin

High insulin and repeated insulin spikes

High Estrogen

So, pretty much if you follow some kind of diet of restriction for a while, you are guaranteed to turn your beta switch off and struggle with reaching your goals.

Sue highlights, it’s important to know that you will only lose “stubborn fat “ after you’ve lost fat from more easily mobilized areas of fat. Your body won’t touch stubborn fat until all the other fat is gone.

Another issue with stubborn fat is lack of blood flow to those areas, this makes it harder for the fat to be mobilized away from the cells and be burned for energy. When we exercise, we get some of the fat in our stubborn areas released from the cells, but if you don’t do something that mobilizes that fat and uses it for energy, it will be re-esterified, or in other words go straight back to the fat cells, after you’ve just work so hard to release it.

Your ability to lose stubborn fat, will depend on the ability to mobilize or breaks down that fat out of your cells and into the blood stream. And after, you need to make sure that fat is burned off and not left circulating in the blood stream, only to be stored as fat once again.

Sues Nutrition Approach consists of 3 different days:

1) Cleanse, Detox, and Balance Days

2) Sculpt and Burn Days

3) Splurge Days

Sues Training Approach:

You definitely shouldn’t spend hours a day exercising, but you do have to make sure you’re training effectively and with purpose.

1) You need to ACTIVATE the right muscles

2) You need to SCULPT feminine muscles in the right places

3) You need to ACCELERATE fat loss in stubborn female ares

She designed her Beta Switch Targeted Training Program strategically to make sure, you are first ACTIVATING the appropriate muscles, that you are MOBILIZING/BREAKING DOWN the fat into your blood stream, and most importantly is that you are BURNING off the fat!

Beta Switch Workouts will:

Activate the appropriate muscles that lift and tone problem areas

Form lean, shapely muscles

Balance a bottom heavy figure and get overall a more symmetrical physique

Increase your metabolism

For who I personally recommend this program

For someone who is at advanced level of fitness and has a lot of knowledge in nutrition, this program can still be a discovery of few new things. I personally found a lot of amazing information for my self in Sue’s program, so earth to Tatianna, I was pretty stunned that I didn’t know those things,

My personal opinion is that this program will be perfect fit for someone who is somewhere in the middle, and for beginners this program is “pure gold”, look nowhere further.
