Video: Wild Horses – The Silk Road Mountain Race

Posted on the 22 February 2019 by Kungfujedi @Kungfujedi

The Silk Road Mountain Race is a mountain bike event that takes riders through remote and wild regions in Kyrgyzstan. The course runs for approximately 1670 km (1037 miles) and the race is nonstop and completely unsupported. The route is a mix of dirt, gravel, and single and double track, much of which was built during the Soviet era and has fallen into disrepair. The winner gets no prize, but finishers do go home with a sense of achievement and pride. The video above will give you a sense of what this even it all about, but if I had to sum it up, I'd say it is pure, unadulterated adventure.
