Video: Venture Out Project Brings Diversity to the Outdoors

The outdoor industry has been aware of the challenges that it faces in terms of being more diverse and inclusive for quite some time. Thankfully, there are some good efforts being made to change the make-up of who is actually spending time outdoors and on the trail, with groups dedicated to bringing more people of color and different genders into that space. Similar efforts are being made by the Venture Out Project, which is an organization dedicated to introducing the wonders of the wilderness to the queer community as well. This video provides some insight into those efforts and what it means for the men and women who are finally starting to feel included amongst hikers, backpackers, and other outdoor groups that weren't always as accommodating in the past.
