Longs Peak is one of the more storied and popular 14ers in Colorado, drawing in wide array of climbers and hikers on a regular basis. Because of its iconic nature, you would think that there wouldn't be any new routes to the top. You'd be wrong, as climbers Chris Weidner and Bruce Miller demonstrate in this video, which provides a look at the first ascent of "The Diamond." Weiner spent more than 50 days, spread out over four summers, trying to conquer this route and one look at it will let you know exactly why. This is some outstanding rock climbing on a big wall in Colorado to say the least.
