One of the few good things to come from the coronavirus pandemic is that many outdoor brands and adventure filmmakers are releasing their full documentaries online for us to watch while on lockdown. That includes gear manufacturer Patagonia, which has put up its film DamNation on its YouTube channel. This important doc takes a look at the impact that building dams on rivers has on the ecosystems found there. There once was a time when dams played an important role in generating electrical power, but now there is a shift in perspective that has seen many hydroelectric dams get dismantled, allowing the environment to return to a more natural state. Get comfortable, as this is a full-length film, but one that is worth a look for sure.
