Video: Examining Mont Blanc’s “Death Couloir”

With a height of 4809 meters (15.777 ft), Mont Blanc holds the distinction of being the tallest peak in the Alps. It also has a long and storied climbing history that draws tens of thousands of people on an annual basis. Those that follow the normal route to the top must pass through the Grand Couloir du Gouter along the way. This section of the trek has also been labeled the "Death Couloir" due to the high number of fatalities that take place in this area.
