Three Excerpts from Are you a fan of Judith Lasater's classic book on restorative yoga Relax and Renew? Well, we certainly are and have been using this book for practice ideas for so many years that we've lost count. So we were very excited to learn that Judith has written a sequel to Relax and Renew called Restore and Rebalance: Yoga for Deep Relaxation. And although the book won't be out until December 26, I was able to get my hot little hands on a preview copy of it and was given permission to share three excerpts from it on our blog. So here we go! (See the end of the post for information about how to pre-order Restore and Rebalance.)
Excerpt 1: Preparing to Practice: Frequently Asked Questions

In this excerpt Judith answers the questions that her students and/or readers typically ask about how to practice restorative yoga.
Excerpt 2: Salamba Uttanasana (Supported Standing Forward Bend)

In this excerpt Judith provides detailed instructions two different options for practicing Standing Forward Bend with head support. This is a very soothing supported partial inversion that is very effective at quieting your nervous system and preparing you for other supported inversions.

Excerpt 3: Salamba Halasana (Supported Plow Pose)
In this excerpt, Judith provides detailed instructions for practicing Supported Plow Pose, another very soothing partial inversion.
