It's that time of year again. We're now just a few short weeks from the start of the busy holiday shopping season, which is always a hectic, and often stressful, time of year. If you've got an outdoor enthusiast on your shopping list this year, chances are you'll be wondering what to get him or her. Fortunately, you're likely to get a lot of suggestions in the days ahead as a variety of websites - including this one - will begin publishing numerous gift guides filled with ideas for the adventurer, traveler, and nature lover in your life. In fact, one of those articles has already been released, giving us the 2019 Outside magazine holiday gift guide earlier than expected.
As you would expect from Outside, there is a lot to sort through here. The list is broken down into numerous categories, including fitness, outdoor adventure, gifts for skiers/snowboarders, tech gadgets, food and drink, travel items, and lifestyle pieces. Naturally, all of those subcategories include a variety of options that fit the theme as well, with everything from apparel and boots, to cameras and watches making the list. There are even numerous backpacks for use on the trail, while traveling, at the gym, or just about anywhere else you might need one.
There isn't enough room or time to list out every product that makes the cut, and I'm sure you wouldn't want me to spoil it all anyway. Needless to say, there are some pretty great products here, from a wide variety of gear manufacturers, both big and small. For instance, for skiers Outside recommends The North Face's Purist jacket with Futurelight fabrics, as well as the Goal Zero Sherpa 100PD battery pack, and the Yeti Hopper M30 soft-sided cooler. Other products that got the nod include the Tortuga Setout Divide travel pack, the Arc'teryx Norman VT 2 runnings hoes, and the Garmin Fenix 6 smartwatch.
As mentioned, the list of products is quite extensive and it is safe to say that there is a little something for everyone here. Prices vary greatly as well, with some inexpensive items coming in at under $10, while others can cost well over a thousand. No matter your budget, you're sure to find something here that will put a smile on your favorite outdoor adventurer's face this holiday season.
