The Future of Our "Subscribe by Email" Feature

Right now over 5,500 of you subscribe to this blog by email. Of course there are other ways to read the blog, such as by following us on Facebook or just by going directly to yogaforhealthyaging.blogspot.com. But so many of you have told me how much you like receiving our all our posts by email that I know how important the email feature is to you. Unfortunately, I have now learned that the built-in feature I have been using to send those emails to you automatically for almost ten years is being discontinued.

I wanted to give you all a heads up today about this for two reasons. The first is to reassure you that I intend to figure out a different solution that will allow me to continue to send our subscribers all our posts by email. However, right now our technical support team consists of a single person: me. So I have some research to do in order to find the right solution to this problem and some learning to do about how to format and send the emails with whatever new product I decide to use for this purpose. I also need to use new tools to maintain the subscriber list. And I can't guarantee that there won't be any hiccups along the way.

(By the way, many people don't realize that I do all the work on this blog, both behind the scenes as well as writing for the blog, completely for free. It's a form of community service for me, and I love doing it! But because we don't charge for you to read our blog and we don't run ads, we have a budget of zero. That means that while we try to be as professional as possible about running this project, we can't always achieve the same high standards that some of the for-profit yoga sites out there are able to maintain. So I hope you'll be understanding about all of this.)

The second reason I'm giving you all a heads up about this email problem is in case there is someone out there who has some good suggestions or recommendations for me. Please email me at [email protected]. And if there is someone who does this kind of work professionally, I would be willing to pay for some expert consulting.

Thank you so much,

Nina Zolotow, Editor in Chief of the Yoga for Healthy Aging blog.
