The Boyfriend Chronicles: The Great Debate

By Fitfulfocus @fitfulfocus

Hello again fit and focused friends of Fitful focus! Like it or not, I’m back for another round of The Boyfriend Chronicles, and this month I need some of your help. If you don’t mind, I would like to get all of your opinions on a…subject… that has plagued my and Nicole’s relationship for the past few years we have been together. That subject is about a dog.

The Boyfriend Chronicles

The conversation is not whether or not we should get one, as we both want one but realize it’s unfair for the dog when we’re both out of the apartment for 10-12 hours per day. The debate, instead, is which dog we would get if we were to ever get one.

Now before we get into this too much, I feel I need to preface everybody by giving some details about our apartment. First, we live in Brooklyn and have 900 coveted square feet of space to share with a pet. Second, we do not have a kid/dog safe apartment. There are fragile things, some exposed home theater wires, and no child safety locks on any cabinets. Third, I am going to train this dog to sit and drool on Nicole on command.

So let’s get into it, and please use the comments section to voice your opinions, we need to settle this argument conversation for the last time.

One of us wants a Bulldog and one of us wants something hairy, like a Sheep Dog or a Sheepadoodle. I’ll try not to inject my opinion too much here as I don’t want to influence your opinions, but let’s list the pros and cons of each of the breeds, and for the sake of conversation, we’ll pick a sheepadoodle as the hairy one.

Up first, the Bulldog:

Pros:

  • ….cricket cricket

Cons:

  • drool (this can be a pro, if it takes to my training and learns to drool on command)
  • ugly
  • dumb
  • ugly
  • stubborn
  • ugly
  • prone to illness
  • wrinkly

Up next, the Sheepadoodle:

Pros:

  • adorable
  • smart
  • hypoallergenic
  • fun
  • well behaved

Cons:

  • …cricket cricket

I mean look at these two things next to each other and tell me that one of them doesn’t speak to you more than the other.   I’m still not trying to influence any of your opinions, but it makes me self-conscious that all of the animals Nicole likes are ugly and fat.
