I don't toot my own horn all that often here on my little corner of the Internet, but I thought that this was worth sharing.Last week I received an email that informed me that my humble little blog was named one of the Top 20 Adventure & Outdoor blogs on the Internet by ReddyYeti.com, putting me in some fairly elite company. I get these kinds of emails regularly, but often times the lists are much longer, which takes away some of the credibility to me, and often there is a stipulation or two attached, for instance the site posting the list wants me to link to it or post a banner on my page. But what made this one special was that the list is a result of a survey that ReddyYeti put out to its 20,000+ subscribers, which means the winners were picked by readers and true outdoor enthusiasts, not a bunch of editors looking to get some hits.
I made the cut at #19, but there are some great website on there with me. For instance, Semi Rad is one spot up, and Expert Vegabond is in the mix too. Section Hiker comes in at #11, while the top spot is held by Adventure Journal, one of my favorite sites too. I'm not familiar with all of the sites that made the Top 20, but I'm sure they all have great content to offer too.
As for ReddyYeti, its a site that gives away outdoor gear and helps new start up companies connect with potential customers. I'm not a member, but I'm curious to see how it all works. If anyone uses the site regularly, drop me a line to tell me about your experience.
