That Time I Signed Up For The Dopey Challenge On A Whim

Soooooo…. I did something crazy.

Yea… I signed up for the Dopey Challenge! 48.6 magical miles over 4 days.

Why? I really have no idea! I had no intention of doing this race. I wasn’t even planning on doing the marathon, but then I was in LA for work last week. We had a photo shoot at Walt Disney Studios, and suddenly I got the itch.

I went online and saw that sign ups for Walt Disney World Weekend were opening in just a few days. “It’s a sign!” I thought.

I texted Angela, who just did the Dopey challenge in January.

And so it was done. I set my alarm for Tuesday at noon, even though I was waiting anxiously at my computer starting at 9am. Angela and I were texting like crazy people all morning:

Now the hard part is over (she says naively before training even begins). Except I typed in the wrong birthday on my registration. The wrong birthday, people. It’s my own birthday! I knew I had typed it wrong, but I didn’t want to go back in case the site froze again (read all about that in the text convo above), so I’ll just have to contact someone to get it fixed. Disney makes me a nut bag. I don’t even know how I’ll train for this. I blame you, Minnie, you manipulative mouse, you.

Or maybe it was just Dopey…
