Long runs are a glorious thing, at least I think so. They're my time to unwind, to listen to good audio book or catch up on my favorite podcasts (cough*Runners Who Wine*cough). They make me feel strong, physically and mentally. I almost always finish a long run feeling that good runner's high.
You know what else I love about my long runs? The recovery I get afterwards.
You see, I treat recovery like a reward. It's something I only get after I've conquered those miles. If I don't get in my long run, I don't get to partake in my post-long run routine, and that routine is exactly what Annmarie and I are chatting about in the latest episode of the Runner's Who Wine Podcast!
(Moose crashed our photo shoot! ^)In this episode, Annmarie and I will talk you through our recovery routines and chat about some of our favorite products for recovery. Of course, we also talk about our favorite things to eat post run (because it's always all about those noms). We share tips for how to foam roll properly, how to make time for recovery and all the things that will help you treat those muscles right and bounce back faster.
Tune in below or give it a listen while you're out on that long run. Find it on Soundcloud and iTunes!
