Runners Who Wine Episode 14: What is a Virtual Race

When I first heard the term virtual race, I was confused. To me, races were this HUGE event, with bag checks and chip timers and excited race directors counting down the start of the race. How could that be virtual?

But, I'll try (most) anything once, so I signed up. You know what? It was pretty cool!

First things first: what is a virtual race?

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE?

A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked or jogged or skipped - you do you, boo. Ain't nobody watching.) from any location (road, treadmill, trail, laps around your kitchen). Many virtual races designate a day or time to run, but it's really up to you.

Some virtual races will send you a bib or let you print one, and most come with some form of swag. Sometimes it's a medal, sometimes it's a shirt-I once got a medal hanger for doing a virtual race!

Anywho, in the newest episode of Runners Who Wine, Annmarie and I dive into what makes virtual races so neat and share some of our favorite virtual races. In fact, Runners Who Wine is sponsoring a virtual race, and you are all invited to join us!
