Quick Workout Resources

By Fitfulfocus @fitfulfocus

It’s been an awesome week here in Texas, but things have been even more awesome with all these awesome guest posts! They’re awesome right? Awesome! I’ll be back in action tomorrow, but first I have one more awesome blogger to introduce you to: Lauren from Breathe Deeply and Smile!

Lauren is a research scientist and full-time student by day and part-time health and fitness nut the rest of the time. She’s addicted to running and the November Project and loves cooking, watching TV & films, trying new restaurants and bars, and exploring all the fun things her city (Baltimore) has to offer. Besides running she dabbles in Crossfit, yoga, spin and group fitness classes. If you don’t want to date her (which come on, I know you do) at least check out her awesome post on quick workout resources . Do it to it, Lauren!

Hey all – Lauren here!  Between working, full-time school, and everything else going on in life I sometimes don’t always have time to make it to a gym or go for a run. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a way to fit in a quick workout though. I have a mini arsenal of workouts that I break out when I’m short on time, on the go, or traveling. Here’s a list of my favorite go-to quick workout resources:

Quick Workout Resources

Pinterest.

If you check out my Pinterest page (be sure to follow me!), I have a whole board of workouts including a few I’ve made like this Burn it Out workout. There are so many free workouts tagged on Pinterest that you can search by typing in whatever you are looking for such as something like “20 minute arms and abs” or “no equipment workout” and scroll through until you find something that looks interesting.

Women’s Health Fit Club

As a Women’s Health Action Hero I was lucky enough to receive a complimentary membership to try out the WH Fit Club online fitness video service. It’s a really great collection of videos from different trainers all for just $15.75 a month (or a discounted 3-month package). I love the Foundations Yoga for Running and Cardio Sculpt videos. Most of the videos range from 10-30 minutes, which is perfect for a quick at-home or on-the-go workout.

Tone It Up

The fun trainers behind the Tone It Up community, Karena & Katrina, have a really solid arsenal of workouts you can mostly do at home ranging from strength to yoga to cardio for just about each and every body area. They have all their workouts listed on their website which also feature a Youtube video which I like for demonstration purposes to easily follow along.

Blogilates

Cassey Ho is the bubbly brains behind Blogilates, a huge pilates-focused Youtube channel, clothing line, and blog. I love that her workouts are choreographed to pop hits and are usually quick so you can put together a bunch of different 3-5 minute focused workouts to build your own workout. Don’t be fooled by Cassey’s cheerful personality, the girl will have you sweating in no time!

Shaun T Insanity & Focus T25

Once upon a time when I started running I completed the Insanity challenge. It wasn’t completely straight through but was definitely a tough program. Now on days I am short on time or traveling I love popping in one of his Insanity or Focus T25 DVDs for a heart-pounding plyometric workout that always leaves me sweaty. I like that his videos are short on time and allow for lots of modifications of moves.

Nike + Training Club

Nike+ has an awesome training app for Android and iPhone that includes over 100 workouts from Nike trainers and allows you to sync with Nike+ to get cheers from friends and measure goals. The best part is the app is FREE and the videos game be streamed right from your phone.
