New Spring Workshop and New Summer Retreat!I'm pleased to announce that this year for the very first time I'm scheduled to teach new Yoga for Healthy Aging programming on "Adapting to and Accepting Change" in the coming year. I'll be co-teaching both a weekend workshop (April 7-8 in Brentwood, CA) and a weekend retreat (June 22-24 at Ratna Ling Retreat Center) with Sandy Carmellini, who is both a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and certified Yoga for Healthy Aging teacher.

For those of you who might be interested, here's some information about these two special events.

SPRING 2018 WEEKEND WORKSHOP

In this workshop we’ll look at the many ways that yoga can help us cope with physical, mental, and emotional changes throughout our lives. For both temporary and permanent physical changes, we’ll look at how you can adapt your asana practice to continue receiving its many benefits. For the emotional effects caused by change, we’ll look at yoga practices that can help us manage anger, grief, depression, and anxiety. Finally we will discuss how cultivating equanimity helps you weather life changes with more grace and ease and how the wisdom of yoga can help you change the way you look at your life, allowing you to move toward acceptance and peace in the face of change. The workshop will be a good balance of discussion and active practice, allowing you experience all these techniques in action.

April 7 & 8, 2018, 11am-1pm and 3-5pm

SUMMER 2018 WEEKEND RETREAT

Join us as we explore how yoga can help support and sustain during the different phases of our lives. We’ll look at the many ways that yoga can help us cope with physical, mental, and emotional changes. For both temporary and permanent physical changes, we’ll show you how you can adapt your asana practice to continue receiving its many benefits. For the emotional effects caused by change, we’ll present yoga practices that can help us manage anger, grief, depression, and anxiety. Finally we will discuss how cultivating equanimity helps you weather life changes with more grace and ease and how the wisdom of yoga can help you change the way you look at your life, allowing you to move toward acceptance and peace in the face of change.

The weekend will be a good balance of discussion, active practice, and relaxation, allowing you experience all the techniques we discuss action. You also have time off to explore the natural beauty of the nearby the Pacific Coastline and ancient redwood forests.

Our plan is that you’ll return home feeling physically relaxed and mentally stimulated, and with a whole new set of tools to add to your yoga toolbox.
