Over the past few weeks we've seen a steady stream of new outdoor gear hitting the market, even as more and more people are returning to their regular routines. This has prompted me to share some reviews and round-ups of that gear in two previous posts, which can be found here and here. Today, we have a few more of those rundowns to share, including some insightful looks at the latest hiking, camping, running, and climbing gear from a number of our favorite adventure-related websites.
We'll start with some excellent gear options for the ladies, as GearJunkie has been posting a steady stream of reviews on women's gear over the past week or so. Those articles include a look at the best women's climbing pants, as well as the best women's climbing harnesses, and of course the best women's climbing shoes. Finally, the GJ team has also compiled the best women's mountain biking shorts too.
In more general outdoor gear news, GearJunkie also has released its picks for the best new camping tents of 2020, with options from REI, Big Agnes, and Kelty earning top honors. Those looking to get back in shape following the COVID-19 lockdown will want to check out Men's Journal's selection for the top trail running shoes for summer 2020, as well as Gear Patrol's picks for the best new fitness gear of June. Meanwhile, Popular Mechanics has a rundown of the best new bike locks to keep your ride safe this summer, as well as a comprehensive look at the top camping gear for the season too. Complimenting that final list, Backpacker magazine has also revealed its picks for the 5 best budget sleeping bags for summer 2020 too.
This week was suppose to be the 2020 Summer Outdoor Retailer show in Denver, where we would have gotten a look at the latest gear schedule for release next year. I can tell you that there are a lot of Zoom and Skype calls scheduled in the days ahead to get al look at some of those products despite the convention being cancelled. In other words, no matter what else is happening in the world, there is still new gear heading our way. Stay tuned for more news on that subject in the days ahead.
