I don’t know what’s going on with me. I was so frustrated when I couldn’t workout, and now that I can, I can’t seem to muster up the motivation.
Every morning, I set my alarm to getup and get going, and every morning I turn it off and sleep in. I tell myself I’ll workout in the afternoon. Some days I do. Others I don’t, and even when I do, I know I haven’t been giving in 100%. I’m in a slump.
I know that if I start just getting my head off the pillow and my butt out of bed at 6:30 like I used to, I’ll get back into my routine and it won’t be so hard – but I just don’t want to lately.
The motivation factor has been so bad, I was seriously considering not doing the Spartan Race Will and I had signed up for (we did end up doing it, thankfully – recap to come). I’m usually so excited for races, but I would have been ok skipping this one out of sheer laziness? What’s gotten into me?
My Dopey Challenge training has started, and while the runs on the calendar for July are really just build up runs that I don’t REALLY need, I still want to stick to my plan. I also know how important it is to cross train, which is where I’ve really been slacking. I DO NOT want to get injured again, so I need to up my game.
I’m heading off to Blogfest tomorrow evening (!!!), and I’m hoping a long weekend surrounded by healthy and inspiring people will be just what I need to re-motivate myself. I know I left last year feeling so ridiculously motivated that I decided to become a certified personal trainer, so I’m hoping this year’s conference will work its magic on my motivation mojo.
In the meantime, I’m going to keep participating in the #LJInspire Challenge (join me!) in hopes that all those instagram posts will inspire me, and I’ll keep setting my alarm for AM workouts and trying to win the battle of the pillow.
