Hello my Lovies,

The other day, I got an offer to review a Nutrition Company named Gnarly. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that I am very skeptical when it comes to supplements, because to my knowledge the supplement market is filled with chemicals and GMO products, with huge promises and very low quality ingredients. I get offers to review products all the time, I turn down about 95% of them, simply because I really value the time of my audience and want to only share the best.

When I first received the email, I have to be honest I rolled my eyes and thought to my self, oh here we go more stuff that people shouldn’t be taking, but I still gave it a looksie just in case I was wrong. And have to admit, I was wrong. I took a close look at their website, products and ingredients list, and I was so impressed at the quality of their products, and I happily agreed to try their products.

Gnarly generously sent me 2 of their products to try and I got to chose which one’s I wanted. I’ve chosen Gnarly Whey Protein and Gnarly Pump, their pre workout drink. They also sent me their shaker cup, which by the way is BPA free.

Let’s start with Gnarly Pump – Pre Workout Drink

Gnarly Pump

Gnarly Pump is an all natural nitric oxide booster with:

Clinical doses of:

  • L-Arginine ( 5000 mg )
  • L-Citrulline ( 1000 mg )
  • Micronized Creatine Monohydrate ( 5000 mg )
  • With no Artificial Flavors or Colors
  • No Surcalose, Acesulfame Potassium, Aspartame
  • Absolutely no harsh stimulants and no artificial ingredients
  • with 60 mg of caffeine naturally derived from Green Tea Leaf.

At first I was hesitant of trying it because it contains Creatine, because I’ve read that creatine makes you puffy and bloated. But, I wanted to do my research one more time and look deeper into the subject and found a lot of information that convinced me of the benefits of creatine for women. ( Fitness RX has a good article about Creatine ).

After taking this supplement for 2 weeks, prior to each of my workouts I can tell you that I’ve noticed absolutely no bloating or puffiness. But, what I did experience is a lot of power, energy and extremely fast recovery with barely any soreness.
The thing is, I workout most of the time in a fasted state, it’s the only way I can get a good workout in. I just can’t workout as good if I’ve eaten an hour or two prior. But, there is a downside to me only working out in a fasted state, if I don’t get up and workout within an hour and a half, I begin to get so hungry that I cannot even think about working out, and it becomes harder half way through my routine. And sometimes I’m just not able to workout that soon after waking, because I like to get a lot of my work down with my morning coffee, and my morning routine can take up to 3 hours.
To make the long story short, taking Gnarly Pumped had solved my problem of losing strength half way through my workout, even by the end of my routine I feel like a beast, in a good way. The energy that I feel from taking it is not like drinking lot’s of coffee, it’s more like pure, clean supply of energy without the shakes.

It tastes great, no nasty after taste like similar products of it’s kind. I mix it in my shaker cup, with lot’s of ice and drink it 30 minutes prior to my workout.

It’s only been two weeks, I will continue taking this products and then write a follow up review to see the difference in long term benefits.

Now, let’s get to the Gnarly Whey Protein

Gnarly Whey Protein
Gnarly Whey Protein

I personally only use protein powder if I have no time to make solid food. But, in the summer I use protein powders a lot, because it gets so hot that I can’t even think about solid food, I prefer making protein ice-cream instead.

Right now on the market you can find so many different Whey Protein Powders that it will make you head spin. But are they good? Do they have clean, non GMO ingredients? About 85% of them sadly don’t, because even when the label says “natural”, I know how to read

and when I do, I always find some kind of crappy ingredient.

What I love about Gnarly Whey:

  • Per 2 scoops, It’s 25g of New Zealand Grass Fed Protein
  • No Artificial Flavors or Colors
  • No Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium or Aspartame
  • Gluten Free ( for those of you who are allergic to gluten )
  • 5.5 g of BCAAs
  • 4g of Glutamine
  • GMO free
  • Diabetic Friendly / Low Glycemic
  • Pre and Probiotics Included
  • Digestive Enzymes Included

From my self I would like to add that I absolutely love the taste! It tastes like the most delicious vanilla ice cream, the taste of it reminds me of vanilla ice cream from my childhood. It has this creamy quality to it and no aftertaste, as many of similar products.

The price of these products by many can be considered on a higher side, but you have to understand you get what you pay for! Good quality ingredients cost money, period. So when it comes to food or supplements I never cut corners. I don’t buy expensive clothes, or shoes or purses but my food is very expensive, because my health is my priority.

As I said earlier I will keep using these products for few more weeks and will write a follow up on this post.

( PS if you enter a code ( lovingfit ) at checkout you will get a discount
