Looking to hit a time goal during your race? Let this free customizable, printable pace band keep you on track.
I can’t believe the Philadelphia Marathon is less than two weeks away! I’m actually not feeling stressed about it at all. While I’ve been training and working up mileage for this marathon, it’s seems like nothing next to the Dopey Challenge that will follow. I kind of just tacked this race into my training. I know that when race weekend comes, the nervous and excitement will hit, but it’s weird not being nervous about it right now. Maybe it’s because I’m treating this more like a training run than a race or because I’m not going for a PR.
Feeling surprisingly good after 20 miles. Last long run before the #PhiladelphiaMarathon is complete! Now time for some Halloween festivities! ✨ #run #running #runnyc #runchat #instarunner #runnersofig #marathontraining #dopeychallenge #rundisney #sweatpink #girlsgonesporty #fitfluential #fitfam #runlikeagirl #fitness #fitblogger #fitnessblogger #miles #longrun #garmin #TomTomSpark #sparkmyfitness

To be honest, I can’t even remember what my time was at my first marathon so I don’t even know what a PR time would be. I know that sounds crazy not knowing my marathon time, but since my first marathon was the Walt Disney World Marathon, I was stopping to take pictures and just enjoying the run, so I didn’t care about pace.
Ok… now I’m curious. Let’s look this up.
4:41. Not too shabby… if I don’t stop for pictures constantly, maybe I can go for 4:30? See… there I go getting competitive with myself. I said I wasn’t running this race for a PR.
“Ok, Nicole, stop it. Just go out there and enjoy it.”
“Ok, Self, ok. I’ll go out there and just run and see what happens, but what about all my running friends that want to race their buns off and PR. Let’s help them. What do you say, Self?”
“Ok,” Self says, “if they want to go for a PR, they should make a pace band!”
“Great idea, self! And then if I do decide to go for a PR, I can use it, too!”
“Exactly. Except you’re not going to for Philadelphia, remember?”
“Right…. Well, we’ll see…”
(Yes, I talk to myself. Don’t judge me.)
Anywayyyy whether or not I decide to run Philly for time, I know a lot of you have late fall races coming up that you do want to PR at, so I’ve created a totally FREE Customizable, Printable Pace Band just for you!
There is a 5K, 10K, Half and Marathon option for your downloading pleasure.
I first used a pace band at the Bronx 10-Miler and it really kept me motivated. Hopefully these will stir the fire in you!
Just print it out, use this pace band creator to figure what time you should be at for each mile marker. Write your times in with a pen, and wrap the band around your wrist. I suggest coating the band with clear packing tape to create a laminated effect that will help shield it from weather and sweat.
Ok, my PR-loving friends, get to it!
