Enjoying the View

By Rob Howard @adventurenet
Enjoying the ViewAdventure racing gets me to some beautiful places and CP8 on the Aveyron Adventure Race is one of those.
The checkpoint is set up at St. Jean le Froid - a chapel and hermitage which used to be inhabited by a monk, but which is the setting for a transition from trek to bike this morning.
Enjoying the ViewThe stone chapel sits on top of a hill with a 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside and German Cuevas, Anne-Marie Dunhill and myself set up camp to wait for the teams to arrive.  Despite the name it isn't cold, but it is a very windy spot!

The leaders came in just after sunrise and they too were enjoying the view.
