Disney Princess 2017 10K Race Recap

Welcome back to my Disney Princess Race Recap Series! Last week, we chatted all about the Disney Princess 5K, and today we're diving into the Enchanted 10K. Let's get right to it.

THE DAY BEFORE THE RACE

The 10K started at 5:30am vs. 6am for the 5K, so our wake up call was a little earlier than the day prior. My phone beeped at me at 3:50. I groggily popped up, put on my Beauty and the Beast leggings, and was out the door by 4:15.

Getting to the race from off property was just as easy as the day before. We parked right by the starting line, and Jess and I went to meet Angela, Angela's cousin and Angela's fiancé in our corral.

A few minutes later, we were on our way!

The first three miles were all on back roads. It's not as fun as the parks but we did get to see Tinkerbell...

... and the evil witch from Snow White (eek!) before heading into Epcot.

We waited in a decently long line for Pinocchio and Geppetto...

... before heading out to the Boardwalk. Unfortunately, all the waiting in lines meant that all the later corrals were starting to catch up with us. Most of the later corrals consist of walkers, so it was pretty crowded and slow moving. We were still trying to run between character stops, so it was a little tough.

I don't regret stopping for any of the characters we stopped for, but if you are looking to avoid long lines for characters and crowds in the park, I suggest not stopping for the first few character stops to stay ahead of the later corrals.

Slowly but surely, we made our way back into Epcot where Princess Minnie was waiting! The line was INSANE, but we had to stop. Worth it.

We slowly weaved our way around the walkers and ran through the finish line! Medals earned.

Disney Princess 2017 10K Race Recap

Between the 5K and the 10K, we had 9.3 miles down and 13.1 to go.

Jess and I headed back to the house to shower and get ready. We had an amazing brunch with all the ladies we were staying with (they made me gluten-free waffles!) and then it was time for Magic Kingdom!

For some reason, the park was WAY more crowded than I've ever seen it. Rides that you can usually walk on to had 90-minute waits. It put a bit of a damper on the experience, but we still enjoyed everything we could.

We went to the Monsters' Inc Laugh Factory, rode on the Prince Charming Regal Carousel, sang along through It's A Small World, fast-passed our way through the Haunted Mansion, got another Dole Whip, screamed on Big Mountain Railroad, and finished out the day at the Carousel of Progress. Then it was back home and to bed by 9:30. We had another race ahead!
