When it comes to exercise and getting in a good workout, consistency is key. The great thing about ab workouts is that you can do them at home but also daily if structured right. Here is a simple but effective ab workout you could do every day if you really wanted to. This isn't a full workout program but something that will help you develop core strength and improve your stamina.
- Figure 8 Ab (60 seconds)
- Wall Jump Tuck crunches (30 seconds)
- Plank Knee Tuck (30 seconds)
- Side Plank (30 seconds per side)
- Elbows in crunches with feet in the air (60 seconds)
- Serratus Crunch with weight plate (60 seconds)
Workout Time: 5-7 minutes
Each of these movements works a different area of your abdominals and can be completed in about 5-7 minutes which is a fast core workout! This is something that would be nice to pair after your cardio days or after main weightlifting workouts. Since it's only 5 minutes it will be a very intense feeling and you'll be starting to sweat and out of breath by the end! It's okay to take a few second breaks as needed because 60 seconds non-stop of crunch movements is hard.
I've also done this workout in a video and will share it below so you can follow along to get a full understanding of the movements. Once you learn them then you can follow along with the video or just do them on your own. Doing this consistently for 3-4x a week at a minimum you should start feeling changes in your stomach after 3-4 weeks. This is just one example of an ab workout but you can switch around and add different movements to create some variety. Remember if you add too many movements then this will become more difficult. This is a supplementary ab workout to add every day to increase your workload capacity for abs. This isn't a full-blown hardcore "core" workout since you are already going to be tired from your main workout before doing this. Either way, you should still see improvements regardless of sticking to something every day like exercise!
