I was pretty in-tune with the racing scene back in NYC. NYRR and NYCruns had a great list of events throughout the year. If you were in the mood for a race, it was always pretty easy to find one.
Now that I'm in a new city, I have a new running scene to get into. It's fun to have ton of new-to-me races to try out, but it's also daunting to try to figure out when and what the best ones are.
Fortunately, I have a few blogger friends who are local and shared some wisdom, and a rabbit-hole-trip down Google helped me find a few more races.
I can't speak to the quality of most of these races but one just yet, but they are all officially on my "Austin Races To Check Off The Bucket List" list.
