Amino Recovery by Bodybuilding.com

Here is a personal & unbiased review based on my personal encounter with Amino Recovery. I’ve only tried this product once in the sample serving size.

Taste (9/10): In my sample serving size of Amino Recovery, I got to enjoy the blue raseberry flavor. It was actually more than I was expecting, the flavor combination worked really well on my palate. I didnt expect a very good taste but was pleasantly surprised. Initially I didn’t taste anything but after a few seconds I’m hit with this electric blue flavor that just made me feel super happy to have earned this drink after my workout! I was like “I want to drink some more!”

Effectiveness (10/10): Amino Recovery , while its hard to judge the effectiveness of this product due to my one serving of it. I do believe that based on the ingredients and quality that usually comes from this company, this product is effective in what it states to do. A simple BCAA post workout or intra workout drink to help replinish your body of lost BCAA’s.  Lets talk a little bit about what exactly is inside this product!

amino recovery supplement facts

Amino Recovery Supplement Facts

500% Vitamin B12 :

It is needed to convert carbohydrates into glucose in the body, thus leading to energy production and a decrease in fatigue and lethargy in the body. It helps in healthy regulation of the nervous system, reducing depression, stress, and brain shrinkage. It helps maintain a healthy digestive system. Vitamin B12 also protects against heart disease by curbing and improving unhealthy cholesterol levels, protecting against stroke, and high blood pressure.

2.5g of Glutamine:

During intense training, Glutamine levels are greatly depleted in your body, which decreases strength, stamina and recovery. It could take up to 6 days for Glutamine levels to return to normal – and Glutamine plays a key role in protein synthesis. Studies have shown that L-Glutamine supplementation can minimize breakdown of muscle and improve protein metabolism. Glutamine plays key roles in protein metabolism, cell volumizing, and anti-catabolism. Glutamine also increases your ability to secrete Human Growth Hormone, which helps metabolize body fat and support new muscle growth. Glutamine’s anti-catabolism ability prevents the breakdown of your muscles.

2.5g of Leucine:

L-Leucine, commonly known as Leucine, is known as one of three branch-chain amino acids. Because it is an essential amino acid, humans cannot synthesize it. This means that it must be obtained through diet or supplements. Some of the foods that contain L-Leucine include eggs, fish, chicken, lentils, almonds and cashews, among others.   L-Leucine provides many benefits to the body. It is effective for maintaining blood sugar levels and also increases growth hormone production. L-Leucine combines with isoleucine and valine to protect and provide fuel to the muscles, and also helps to increase your endurance level and boost energy. Other benefits of L-Leucine are the preservation of lean muscle mass. This amino acid helps preserve muscle tissue, so that it doesn’t break down as quickly during the aging process. L-Leucine can also speed the recovery process for muscle damage and skin injuries.

1g of Iso-leucine:

Isoleucine, together with the other two branched-chain-amino-acids promote muscle recovery after physical exercise and on its own it is needed for the formation of hemoglobin as well as assisting with regulation of blood sugar levels as well as energy levels. It is also involved in blood-clot formation.

1g of Valine:

Some of the benefits of L-Valine include improvement in insomnia and nervousness. It is also shown to improve disorders of the muscles, and is effective as an appetite suppressant. L-Valine also greatly benefits the regulation of the immune system. Perhaps the biggest benefits are experienced by athletes who perform long distance sports and bodybuilding. L-Valine is essential for muscle tissue repair and muscle metabolism, and also increases exercise endurance

Mixability (9/10): I put one full serving into 12 oz of cold water. It mixed easily with a blender ball and shaker cup. I didn’t encounter any grit until the last gulp but it was very minimal. Thats the only reason I didn’t give this a 10/10 rating.

Value(9/10): The value of this product is pretty solid. You can get 90 servings for 34.99$ + shipping which is usually around 5$ or so. I don’t see how you would need to take this more than once per day so you’ve effectively got 3 months worth of product here for a good price.

Overall (9.25/10):  A very high rating for a solid product from a reputable company. I buy pretty often from bodybuilding.com and am always impressed with their fast shipping. Not only that but they usually give me free samples and t-shirts as well. The fact that they now have launched their own line of products is pretty cool as well. Amino Recovery + Energy by Bodybuilding.com
