Best Yoga Poses For Back Pain

Pigeon Pose

We should call this pose “Angel of Mercy” for what it can do to rescue your poor aching back. It’s genius at opening the lower body muscles like hamstrings, hip rotators and the iliopsoas muscles, all which can contribute to back pain, without putting too much torque on the already tight back muscles. This releases them by springing open the muscles beneath. It’s a must-do in my yoga pose sequencing.

Tree Pose

Vriskhasana will replicate the graceful, steady stance of a tree with pose that requires keeping your eyes open to maintain the balance of the body. This yoga pose will bring balance and equilibrium to your mind and improve the concentration power. This asana will make the leg more strong and helps who are suffering from sciatica, postural deformities of spine and weakness of shoulders. See the photo which is displayed here and get the correct posture to relief from Lower Back Pain.

Bow pose

Dhanurasana brings back elasticity to the back and removes stiffness from the back region. It strengthens the back muscles and improves flexibility. The spinal column is realigned and rejuvenated. The ligaments, muscles and nerves are given good stretch, which provides flexibility to the spine and makes it more supple and healthy. Dhanurasana can play vital role in prevention of Lower back pain.

Corpse Pose

This is a pose that you can start and end your routine with. It might seem just a simple relaxation pose but it benefits you physiologically and physically. Lay on your back with your arms on your side, palms facing upwards and make sure that your feet turn out equally. Focus on your breathing and relax your body as well as your mind.

Wall Plank pose

Stand in front of a wall at arm’s length. Reach forward from your shoulders and plant your palms on the wall, fingers wide, middle fingers pointing straight at the ceiling. Firm your fingers into the wall and draw your navel back as you lengthen the tailbone towards the floor. Lift your ribs from the pelvis. You want to work with a natural lower back curve but an active belly.
