The first thing I picked out was their nail polish in the shade Silver Clash, which is part of their holiday collection. This is a gorgeous glitter polish with chunks of silver and gold. You can use it as a topper and it can be built up to full opacity. I also picked out the shade Fuchsia Over Noir which is a stunning blackened pink. The formula on this one is really good. It was almost fully opaque in one coat and it doesn't streak at all. The YSL polishes also have the wider brush, so application is easy.
Two coats of each polish. They look a little off because I had to go and drop the nail wheel before they dried. Guess which side was face down?
The other product I got from their holiday collection is the Volupte Tint in Oil in the shade Rock My Pink. This is a nourishing lip oil with a sheer hint of pink. If this wasn't on sale, I wouldn't have bought it. There isn't anything impressive about it. It is a nice product and I love the way it smells. However, it isn't something I would get again.
The final thing is the Nude Contouring eyeshadow palette, or shade 13 as some websites have it labeled. It is a gorgeous, neutral eyeshadow palette that is perfect for anyone who likes minimal makeup. The texture is amazing. They are smooth and soft, but still have just a bit of roughness. The color payoff is okay. I expect that they will do a little better over primer. Either way, this isn't a palette I will use too often. Which is why my mom will be getting it. She saw me swatching it and wanted it. She is a sap for cool toned neutrals.
Yves Saint Laurent is a brand that I haven't tried very much of, so I am excited to see what they are like. I have used a couple of their lipsticks and love them. I really like their fragrances as well.
If you are interested, the sale is still going on. But hurry, it does end tonight.
