Wine Wednesday Valentine’s Day Bubbles

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

While Scott and I opt to stay home and make a great dinner on Valentine’s Day we do tend to break out a bottle of bubbles. Well, more like I break out a bottle of bubbles. I am a huge fan and Scott not so much.

My picks for a great affordable bottle of Valentines Day Bubbly and a fantastic low cal cocktail.

Ferrari Rose Demi Bottle ($16)

I have this thing for cute bottles or big bottles of wine, I just love them. This is a demi bottle (so 375 ml) and was perfect for just me. I had about 2 1/2 glasses on a cold snow night and it was wonderful.

Segura Viudas Brut Rose ($12)

A full bottle of brut rose just makes me happy. I love rose and I love anything sparkling. Especially one that isn’t too sweet and is $12! This will be what I serve on Friday night for our Valentine’s dinner.

Cordon Negro Sweet Cuve ($10)

While I like sweet sparkling wines this one is really sweet. That’s not a bad thing and a few girlfriends (who like sweet wine) loved this! And for $10 I am happy to buy a few bottles.

Cascasde Ice Zero Calorie Cosmopolitan Mixer (around $2-3 a bottle)

Valentines Day Bubbles

Cascade Ice Low Call Cosmo’s (serves 6-8)

1-2 cups vodka (I used Svedka Citron)

2 17.9 ounce bottles Cascade Ice Mixer

1 liter sparkling water

2 blood oranges, sliced

2 limes, sliced

1 pint of strawberries, sliced

In a large pitcher combine and the fruit, vodka, mixer and sparkling water. Serve in a martini glass.

Cascade Ice Cosmo (1 of 1)

Cascade Ice Cosmo (3 of 3)

All of these were samples sent to me to write a piece for Valentines Day. All opinions are my own.
