Wine Wednesday: Ravenswood Winery (Sonoma)

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Since we just got back from a girls trip to Sonoma and San Francisco, I figured featuring one of my favorite wineries out there was in order. We went for some of the smaller wineries, and many don’t distribute in MN at all. I love having the chance to talk with the staff, see the grounds and really enjoy the experience.

We stopped at Ravenswood at a recommendation from another winery. I will admit prior to that visit I didn’t really think they would be this great. I like their wines just fine, but didn’t find what I had previously tried all that special.

But when you go to the tasting room it’s an entire experience, it’s their higher end wines they don’t distribute as widely, and they were delicious. They just so happen to have beautiful views of the Sonoma area and I could have sat outside and just enjoyed the nice weather and delicious wines all day. The staff at Ravenswood gave us most of our recommendations for the trip and they couldn’t have been more spot on.

I absolutely loved their deep dark zinfandels and one of the tasting room employees was kind enough to take this great group shot. When staff go above and beyond I will always find a way to recommend them. If you are heading out to Sonoma want a really personable tasting experience I highly recommend Ravenswood.
