We had a 50 degree day so I broke out a bottle of white wine, a bit early but I think most of us in the Midwest have a serious case of spring fever. So I opened this bottle of chardonnay, wore my flats with no socks and pretended that all the snow was gone. It’s a start of those spring thoughts!
This is a typical California Chardonnay, not my favorite wine ever but it was cool, refreshing and had me thinking of warmer days. It did pair beautifully with a Chicken Provence that I made with a 1/4 cup of this wine, olive oil, Herbs de Provence, chicken thighs with potatoes and carrots.
Retailing for around $15, this was a very drinkable wine. And if you like oaky Chardonnay from California this is very true to style. I thought the label was very well designed and I am not one to pick a bottle by the label but I thought this would look great in a frame.
