Red wine season is back! It’s back! Well, at least it was for a few days. We had some unseasonably cool temps late last week and into the weekend which meant it was perfect for curling up on the couch with a glass of red wine. No fire yet but it got down to about 45 Friday and Saturday night. That first hint of fall was in the air with crisp temperatures and the smell of leaves. Now it was back up to the mid 70’s Sunday and is in the upper 70’s/low 80’s this week.
That fall feeling isn’t quite hear to stay but I will take it. Any excuse to get back to my red wine. And I do drink red in the summer but it’s so nice to have it during cooler temps.
I grabbed a Shiraz out of our wine cabinet and loved it. And just the name and the description on the back had me sold. Jen Preiffer The Hero Shiraz.
The description: My wines express the connection between my fiery and passionate personality and my connection to my craft. How do you not love that? She describes herself as a rebel redhead. And I love that! Especially given my loathing of all things average.
This shiraz is one of my Naked Wines and is all about berries and spice. a deep red almost purple hue. For my first foray into red this season I enjoyed it immensely. And it’s under $12. A good everyday red.
