Even though we are still having warmer weather, aka white wine weather, I was craving a big bold red. I wanted to feel that heavy glass in my hand and sit on the couch watching a movie with a hearty glass of red.
The Dark Horse Red Blend hit the spot. Another find at Trader Joe’s that is under $10 dollars but drinks like it is a much more expensive wine. It’s a blend from California, Australia and Argentina (3 of my favorite red wine regions) and it has Malbec, Tempranillo, Syrah, and Merlot. This is jammy, a bit oaky and a perfect full bodied red. I am not trying to wish summer away by any means I just wanted that nice big glass of red.
