As winter in Minnesota slowly (painfully so) winds down I have been making sure that I am enjoying some of the heavier reds. While I drink red all year I do add in more white in the summer. I really wanted to enjoy every sip of these wonderful full bodied reds before I am thinking about sitting on a patio (I am thinking about it but we are months away from that, let’s be real, we still get snow in April).
I opened the Ca’de Calle Red Wine Blend and poured myself a nice big glass. Named after Calle who helped restore a historic vineyard in Argentina. It is a blend of 70% Malbec/16% Tempranillo/12% Syrah/2% Petit Verdot and is exactly what I think of when I drink a wine from Argentina.
Lush, full bodied, with hints of plum, black cherry and chocolate. Retailing for $24.95 I enjoyed every sip of this. The perfect we still have snow on the ground and it is in the 30’s kind of wine when in a few weeks we may start to see that snow melt and temperatures that stay above freezing.
