White Peach and the Whole 30

By Heathernichole
I had a hair appointment scheduled for Friday afternoon. I was planning on having her touch up the red that I already had. But I decided to scroll through Pinterest on Thursday night and I came across the photo below. Christina Hendricks is definitely a style icon to me and I think she is absolutely gorgeous. I sent this photo to my stylist and she made it happen.

My husband loves red hair so he was very happy with this color. It's going to take some getting used to on my part. I keep thinking that I'm wearing a wig when I walk by a mirror but I couldn't be happier with the way the color turned out. And my stylist and I decided that this color should be called white peach instead of strawberry blonde.

After much thought and discussing it with my husband, I have decided to do another round of the Whole 30. Last time I did the Whole 30 my husband told me he didn't want me to ever do it again because of how cranky I was. I promised him that I would not complain at all this round so I'm going to try and be very positive about my experience this time. I've made this choice so every food I am not able to eat I am going to say - I am choosing not to eat that. And every food I do eat I am going to tell myself - I am choosing to eat this. Rather than thinking of all the foods I can't eat, I'll focus on the ones I am able to eat.

I didn't want to wait until August 1st to start so I started on July 31st. I wanted to start on a Sunday so I could be sure to have good meals the first day and get me started off on a good note. Last week when I decided to do another round, I ordered a variety pack of RX Bars. I'll keep one of these in my purse in case I'm out and about and I find myself hungry. Always good to have an emergency stash with you at all times. White Peach and the Whole 30
I bought a mini bottle of Chambord for myself on Saturday to drink before I started the Whole 30 on Sunday. Well, I completely forgot about it. I remembered Sunday morning while I was cooking my first Whole 30 meal. Now, I have decided that instead it will be my treat on day 31.

Breakfast on day one was eggs, bacon and avocado. My kitchen is full stocked and I have plenty of options available.

Surprisingly, I wasn't hungry for lunch. I did snack on some Root Vegetable chips, only to find out that they are not allowed on the Whole 30. I had no idea. I thought as long as the ingredients were Whole 30 approved, they were good to eat.

In order to stay hydrated and get my water in, I squeezed some fresh grapefruit juice into my water. I'm not a huge fan of grapefruit but we had some in the house and it was actually tasty in my water.

Dinner was a baked potato with bacon and avocado with a side of pulled pork (from Costco). I'll admit, the pulled pork is much better smothered in barbecue sauce. But the baked potato was amazing!!! I will definitely be making it again.
