What a Day…a Good One This Time

By Joysautismblog @joysautismblog

I started out the day extremely frustrated with Lincoln’s preschool. I felt ignored and was pretty upset. I called them early in the day and someone returned my call shortly after. They are sending us an enrollment packet to fill out and he should be able to start soon. That’s all I’m going to say right now because I’m not exactly “over” all the ignoring they’ve done and I don’t want to say anything I might regret later….

When Adrian got off the bus today the driver told me “he’s a beautiful boy”…how sweet is that? And he is a beautiful little boy, I’m so blessed. I went in and told Glen about it and in typical “dad” fashion he said “yeah that’s what has gotten him by all this time”

This evening I had a meeting with his new teacher. I had met her once before but got to talk with her longer today and I really really like her! She was so nice and we just chatted and laughed and she told me how adorable Adrian was and described a few challenges they’ve been having. I suggested some things and it was just a really good meeting. There are only 7 kids in his class and I asked if he’s the only one with autism, she said there was one other boy with autism in the class. She said Adrian is a bright kid. It’s such a relief to get to know his teacher better.
