We've had Vader at home with us for a little over two months now. We discovered early on that he was not good with other dogs but we didn't know if it was a lack of social skills or if it was aggression. We put him in training at Petco and whenever another dog would come near him he'd bark and go crazy but it was only when we were pulling him away from the other dog. We decided it was time to put him in front of another dog to see what would happen. We took him over to my in-laws house on Sunday to introduce him to Kaiser {I guess Kaiser would be Vader's uncle}. Kaiser is older and very calm so we knew he'd be a good first introduction for Vader.
As you can see by the photos, the two of them got along very well. Honestly, I got a little choked up when Vader didn't attack Kaiser. When we first started bringing him to his trainer she told me, "I don't know if you'll ever be able to have another dog with him." We don't want another dog right now {babies first} but it's nice to know in the future we can bring another one home. They were so cute together. I can't wait to take him back to visit again. My in-laws also have an Old English Bulldog but he's younger and he's more lively. We were worried that he may not be too good with Vader and we didn't want to overwhelm Vader so we will save their introduction for next time. {Vader's vest says Do Not Pet, which is ironic because he LOVES people. But that vest was passed down from the Old English Bull that Vader will meet next time.}
And then we went home and had some cashew milk ice cream for dessert. Vader wanted some. Even though he was a very good boy we didn't give him any. No people food for him. By the way, Stephen has given up dairy with me. At least until the wedding. It's fun having a buddy on the dairy free journey!
