After struggling through a rough Week 8 (where we had a lot of missteps) and Week 9 (which was basically making up for week 8) we are happy to repost that we are back on the road! On the road to what? Well, this week we are on the road both with fitness and travel! For many traveling, keeping fit and exercising usually don’t mix. For us however, it’s actually one of the times that we find ourselves keeping to our eating plan better and making sure we are doing everything we can to focus on our health and fitness. Read our week 10 weight loss update to see how we stay on the road to fit (literally)!
Lauren’s Week 10 Weight Loss Update
This week is pretty much the best week ever!
I am finally in the 160s! Well, I weighed in this morning at 169.9, but that totally counts as in the 160s. I am eating right and exercising at least 5 days a week. Ken and I spent a few days with some friends in St. Louis and our friend woke up early to work out with me. Workouts are always more fun with a friend. Topping off my week, Ken and I spent a few days in Sedona. I worked out every day at altitude. I really thought I was going to die from lack of oxygen, but I powered through it and exercised every single day. It has payed off…Hooray for the 160s.Kenin’s Week 10 Weight Loss Update
We got back on the road this week after finishing up our house sit in Maryland. It’s seems like the change of scenery, along with a slight change in routine helped Lauren and I both get back on track and move the needle South again after our 2 week plateau. Getting back on the road made sure that we stick to our eating plan 100% and also made sure we worked out first thing in the morning before driving each day. On top of that, we spent a few days visiting some friends of ours, who also just joined us on the 90-day challenge. Because of that, we spent time as a larger group, supporting each other through tough situations (like eating out) and also making sure we all got up and exercised each morning. It’s amazing what working together as a group can do and how much easier it is to lose weight when doing it as part of a team.
In addition to eating a bit better, and working out with another friend, I took a couple days off from out HIIT routine to go for a run instead. Even though I love T25 I think it’s really important to give your body different types of exercise to break up the routine and to frequently challenge new muscle groups. Doing so gives your body a chance to rest frequently used muscles and to work out and stretch new ones. While Lauren had her big scale related victory (getting into the 160′s is huge!) I am still a bit shy of my goal to get into the 260′s. However I was thrilled with a huge NSV when the two days that I went running I completed a 5 K each day! I paced just over 10 minute miles (I’m such a slow poke right now) but it was super encouraging to finish them. I think from now on I’m going to try to run 1 day a week to get my speed up. Having such positive results this week, and a bigger support team made all the difference for me. Looking forward to this next week to see if I can get into the 260′s and hit my 30Lb weight loss goal before I finish the challenge!
