The past few years I have attempted to use more organic and natural beauty products. That’s not the case for every single thing but I do to try to use them for skin care products. Coconut oil is an amazing moisturizer, using facial oil to wash my face, Rosehip Seed Oil as a facial moisturizer and this homemade body scrub.
You can make this in about 20 minutes and package it into a few pretty jars. Great for the shower or for gifts! I brought these to Christmas to give to family in these cute mini jars. And I have a bigger jar in my shower for my weekly really long shower where I deep condition my hair, exfoliate my skin, shave with actual shaving cream (versus just running the razor over). That 20 minute shower is pretty amazing. Yes it’s a long shower but it’s only once a week.
Vanilla Lavender Body Scrub
2 cups coconut sugar
1 cup hemp oil
1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
10-15 drops of lavender essential oil
Due to the color of the coconut sugar and hemp oil this will be a dark brown color. I am cool with that but if you want a white colored scrub use grapeseed oil and white sugar! I find the coconut sugar to be a bit larger in grain and it does a better job of exfoliating. A little jar will last at least a few weeks. Just grab a few fingers full and scrub away. Just make sure you rinse the shower/tub out well after. It can leave the area a bit slippery.
Thanks to Nutiva for sending this great body care kit, it made my friends and family very happy to receive these scurbs!
