Travel Thursday: San Francisco

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Ah San Francisco, a city that I love to spend time in. The food, the people watching, how you can walk the whole city, I love it. As much as I love it I would never want to live there, 55 and foggy most of the year would make me depressed! We spent almost 4 days there and really enjoyed ourselves.

Since we didn’t really have an itinerary we really just wandered the city. I had steps days of 18K and 20K with all the walking we did.

Highlights:

Mission District

Dim Sum at Yank Sing

All the Taqueria’s

Fisherman’s Wharf

Union Square

Lombard Street

Golden Gate Bridge

Presidio Park (I went to a wedding here, it was beautiful!)

Carnival Parade

We stayed in a place in the Mission District, just a few blocks from the Bart. It was a great central location and such a vibrant neighborhood. Found on Airbnb and it was really affordable, I will say it was not the cleanest place I ever stayed but it was nice enough. On Sunday we walked off the Bart and right into a Carnival Parade. It was celebrating the diversity of the neighborhood and the excitement was contagious. Dancing in native costumes, great music and such a great celebration. A traditional Dim Sum on Sunday morning was perfect, something about those carts full of dumplings and dishes just makes me so happy! Most of Monday we spent walking the city. All the way from the Embarcadero to Fishermans Wharf to Lombard through many neighborhoods. Such a great way to see everything.
