Travel Thursday Chicago for Verizon Voices Health & Fitness

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Last weekend I had the opportunity to head to Chicago to be part of Verizon Voices Health and Fitness Campaign. I was incredibly honored to be chosen! The basics of the campaign, you receive a phone and fitness device to test for 6 months. They provided both devices for free and you get an unlimited data plan. So exciting.

Scott came with and we turned it into a long weekend, a perfect getaway. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel on Whacker and it was such a great room. Right near the Magnificent Mile, Grant Park, great restaurants and so many other sites. We drove down and it actually only took 6 1/2 hours. Very doable for a long weekend.

Scott had never spent significant time downtown and I played tour guide. We checked out new restaurants, walked the city, did the obligatory picture with the bean, checked out the shed aquarium

Sunday night was an incredible dinner at Park Grill Restaurant and a great opportunity to meet the other bloggers in the program. The food was incredible, all of the other bloggers are so friendly and genuine. It was such a fabulous night! Sarah and I shared our entrees, that way we got the best of both worlds. My favorite way to eat.

A few of us (and our husbands) went out for a bit after, but we were good and back to the hotel by 10ish. We all knew Monday’s kick off meeting would need our full attention. That good night of sleep was a good idea. Monday was packed full of activity. We headed to the office and were all making guesses on what device we would get!

A few guessed correctly. The Droid Razr HD and a FitBit. I didn’t know what to think about the Droid Razr HD. I have been a iPhone user for the past 3 years and had no clue how to even work that phone.

Thankfully we had fantastic training by Motorola and I walked out feeling like I could operate the phone. I didn’t know all the tricks and tips but I could do the basics. Thoughts so far? I really like it. I will do a more through review in May once I’ve had a chance to really use it. And the Fitbit? Best.Thing.Ever. I am doing a post about it tomorrow for Fitness Friday.

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Health and Fitness Voices program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
