Two special rail tour packages to Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir for upcoming Onam season have been announced by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC).Sreekumar Sadanandan, IRCTC Deputy General Manager of Catering told reporters that this was the first time that they were setting up an exceptional tourist train from Kerala.For the 15-day rail tour package there will be both AC and Sleeper along with pantry cars.The tour packages which begin from 14th of September have been designed in four categories including; budget, standard, comfort and deluxe catering all segments of people and these packages are also covers Agra, Delhi and Amritsar.
These rail tour packages are particularly deliberated for the LTC travelers who wish to avail of LTC benefits during Onam holidays.
With the Kashmir Valley tour package priced at Rs 24,410 per person and Rs 26,520 per person for Shimla-Kullu-Manali tour comprising all inclusive, Sadanandan said, that IRCTC provides the cheapest transportation to the travelers to Himalaya regions. It also provides particular packages for Keralites to Velankanni (Rs 3,145), Tirupati Rs. 4,635 and Thanjavur and Kumbakonam at Rs 4,255.
