Tofu Triangles

If you like soya beans and more particularly tofu than this tofu triangles recipe is just the thing for you. Not only is it healthy it is just the best thing you would have. All depending on how much you like soya beans. Honestly when it comes to healthy lunch ideas I can`t think of anything better to have than this dish due to its health reason. This dish is different therefore I would like you to have it and experience for yourself, than tell me what you think  of this tofu triangles as one of your healthy lunch ideas.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb Firm tofu
  • 20 Wonton skins
  • 1 tb Corn or canola oil (amount may be doubled)
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • 1/4 lb Fresh mushrooms; minced
  • 1 tsp Minced ginger root
  • 1 Soy Sauce (or double amount)
  • 1/2 c Chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Curry powder; blended with:
  • 1 tsp Sherry
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch; blended with:
  • 1 tsp Low sodium instant bouillon chicken, or Vegetable
  • 1 tbsp Water (amount may be doubled)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
Directions:
  1. Dry the tofu and crumble into small pieces with a fork.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick wok; saute ginger root until brown.
  3. Add chopped onion and blended curry powder; stir and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add tofu, mushrooms, soy Sauce, pepper, sherry, paprika and bouillon; bring to a boil.
  5. Add sesame oil and blended cornstarch; mix well.
  6. Cool.
  7. Place a portion of the curried tofu (about 2 tsps) in the center of a won-ton skin.
  8. Fold the skin diagonally into the shape of a triangle.
  9. Seal the edges with water.
  10. Heat oil for deep-frying.
  11. Fry the tofu triangles until brown and crisp.
  12. Serve with vinegar, equal amounts of soy Sauce and vinegar, or Sweet and Sour Sauce, or eat plain.
  13. Makes 30 triangles
