I love talking beauty products. Especially considering I have way too many of them! Over the years I have done a lot of experimenting, trying new brands, specific product types while looking for that holy grail skincare routine. After 15 years of all this product experimentation I think I have arrived at the perfect routine. And I am loving the results.
What I learned:
- You don’t have to stick to one brand, the Type A/organization freak in me goes a bit crazy at the thought of all these different bottles not matching. But… I am learning to get over it.
- Use a combination of products
- If you shop at places like Sephora, Ulta, QVC/HSN you can return them if you are not happy. Just save your receipt or order confirmation.
- Think about your skin type but that doesn’t mean you must use all products for that type.
- Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate
My skin:
- Fair
- Combination
- A few freckles
- Larger pores
- The occasional breakout
My goal is skin that is:
- Smooth
- Soft
- Clear
- Hydrated
- Glowing
- Prevent fine lines
My routine:
Morning
- Washing my face in the morning with Purity and the Clarisonic
- Putting on the BHA lotion
- Following up with Josie Maran Argan Oil Daily Moisturizer with SPF (this is being discontinued and I am so sad!)
- Doing on my makeup (this will be a separate post)
Nighttime
- Washing my face with Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil or Purity and the Clarisonic
- Putting on the BHA lotion
- Treating with the Mary Kay Timewise Night Restore
- Adding a few drops of Argan Oil if I am feeling a bit dry & using the oil on my hands and around my cuticles
