Thursday Thoughts: Hair Care Favorites

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

I go in phases with my hair; short, long, chopping it all off, growing it back out. Right now it’s a few inches past my shoulders, which is the longest I have had it since our wedding and before that it had been years. While I like having more options with my hair it has to be out of my face when working out and sleeping. Since I’ve had longer hair the past few years, I’ve amassed quite the collection of hair ties and headbands.

Headbands

I love the Violet Love line for yoga, they are washable and have beautiful bright colors.

My newest find was Lemonhead. They are adjustable and won’t move around on your head. Even in hard core workouts! I was sent a few for a blog sample and loved them so much I have purchased more.

Hair Ties

I’ve used Goody ouchless elastics for years and feel like I go through a ton of them. Where do they go? That might be one of life’s mysteries that will never be explained. The bright colors are my favorite right now, they are easier to find at the bottom of my gym bag or in the small makeup bag I store them in.

Brush

And as for brushing out my very fine hair after a workout or shower. The Quik Style Paddle Brush is amazing. It get out snarls and you use it on soaking wet hair. I love this for showers after evening workouts. I hate going to bed with soaking wet hair and this helps it dry a lot faster.

And to keep my hair as healthy as possible, I use a clarifying shampoo weekly (Suave is great and under $5) and a deep conditioner. I am currently using the Amika Nourishing Mask (this was a Birchbox sample) but pretty much any hair mask will work! I’ve loved a L’oreal mask too.
