Three Lakes Black Cab

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

When we were in Wisconsin this past weekend at my parents I got my fill of all of my favorite Wisconsin things: Cedar Crest ice cream, brandy old fashioneds, cheese curds, lots of snuggles with my niece, a long walk along Lake Michigan and some local (ish) wine.

My Mom had a bottle of the Three Lakes Winery Black Cab. I was a bit hesitant since I know she tends to buy really sweet wine. And with it being a blend of cabernet with blackberry I figured it would be too sweet. I was wrong. This was really good, a little sweet but just the right amount. We split this in front of the new fire pit that Scott and my step dad dug on Saturday afternoon.

While this isn’t a wine I would drink all the time it was one of those just right for the moment wines, we were relaxed and just enjoying the night. I wish my family lived closer, it would be nice to spend more time with them. Especially since every time I see my niece she changes so much. It’s hard to believe she is 2 1/2 already.

The Three Lakes Winery is only a few hours from my parents and they’ve been making wine since 1972. Pretty good for a Wisconsin winery!
