The Perfect Summer Pedicure

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
Or at the least the perfect one for me.  I have never enjoyed going and getting my nails done.  I have a thing about people I don't know touching me, or even standing too close to me.  Anyhow, aside from the basic hygiene and paint, I pretty much leave my feet alone.  Plus I have really ticklish and sensitive piggies, so pedicures are not that enjoyable for me to begin with.  My mom loves them though, and likes products that smell like peppermint. As do I. Peppermint is my favorite scent along with freshly brewed coffee and cinnamon.  Enter the peppermint foot care line from The Body Shop.  Fortunately, I have an at home footbath, so this was an easy at home spa experience. I think mine is by Conair, but you can get one for around $20.00.
First, we filled the footbath with hot water and used the Peppermint Reviving Foot Soak, which looks like sea salt.  A little bit goes along way and it fizzes slightly.  These alone make your skin feel very soft and refreshed.

The Perfect Summer PedicureAfter soaking for about 15-20 minutes, I used The Body Shop's Wooden Foot File to smooth away dead skin.  I was actually shocked by how well this works.  Afterwards, I used their Peppermint Foot Rescue Treatment.  It did an excellent job of removing dry skin on my heels.  This is a very smooth butter that will make your feet feel baby soft.  It has cocoa butter, peppermint oil, grape extract and almond oil.  It absorbs quickly and smells like peppermint ice cream.  And it is pink :) Not that it is important, but it is kind of cool.

To finish things off, I used The Body Shop's Peppermint Cooling Leg Gel.  This is a gel that leaves your legs feeling revived.  It does have a cooling sensation, but it is not intense.  And it doesn't leave your legs feeling sticky.  This would be a great product for anyone that runs a lot or is on their feet all day.  My mom has Peripheral Neuropathy and this really helped her aches and pain.  This contains an ingredient called horse chestnut, which is supposed to improve circulation.  It worked well for my mom and I.

The Perfect Summer PedicureMy feet have never felt so good, not even after a professional pedicure.  Plus it was much more relaxing with the peppermint products, and being able to do it in my own home.  The Body Shop almost always has a great sale going on, so you should be able to get these at a cheaper price.  For instance, they have a sale going on now where you get $30 off of $80 or more, $20 off of $60 or more and $10 off of $40 or more.

1.) Peppermint Reviving Foot Soak $16
2.) Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue Treatment $18
