There are so many diets out there that promise so much, but many of them fail. So, what is the best way to lose weight and keep it off?
Well, you want to opt for a 'diet' that you can do forever, simple as! Diet's that are ridiculously strict, can never be sustained, so once its over you're going to put weight back on. That is the trouble with many of the 'fad diets' out there - you may lose a bit of weight whilst on them, but as soon as they are over, the weight comes back. That is why my approach works, because I don't calorie count, my plans are not overly strict, but most importantly - they are designed for the long term.
Another negative with very strict diets, is that many people get fed up with them and often quit. If something is too strict, people are unlikely to go through with it (you will get some that will, but most will quit early on). And again, if a diet is so strict that people quit, its not exactly a diet that is worth while, because you cannot possibly do it for the rest of your life. I have seen some celebrities 'back' certain diets that are very strict, and there is a reason for that. You will find that celeb's will go on these short term (sometimes 'shake diets') if they have an important photo shoot coming up, or even a movie, and need to shed a few pounds. Some celeb's are always up and down with their weight, and they are the ones that use the 'quick fixes' too often. People that are consistently in shape will have diets and training programs that are sustainable, nothing that is overly strict or designed for the short term. Those are the people you want to copy.
If you want the weight gone forever, and not come back with a vengeance, then get yourself on a sustainable healthy diet and exercise plan.
