I have been overweight/obese for many years. I didn’t start off this way. I was a tiny li’l thing all up until my early twenties. Then I got married and life happened. This year I turned 31 and I knew I had to make a big change in my lifestyle and start getting healthy if I wanted to live a long life.
Back in the thin days
I changed my diet with getting healthy in mind almost a year ago now. My husband and I started eating organic foods and I even started walking every day. For some reason though that wasn’t enough. I lost a pound here and there and then I seemed to gain it right back. Fat just seemed to stick to me everywhere. I was at a loss of what to do to further change my diet and my health.
I truly tried many different diets and exercise programs and my weight would just see-saw and frustrate me. Then a friend told me about the 90-Day Challenge. I never thought of myself as the kind of person that would ever need, much less want to be on a meal replacement program. But I was at the point where I wanted to try everything in the book before going for something dramatic like liposuction or just cutting off a limb to move the numbers on my scale.
I thought to myself, “What do I have to lose, except maybe a couple of dollars?” This way, I can say that I tried everything and I was just meant to be a great big old fat ass.
I woke up this morning after being on the 90 Day Challenge for a little less than 55 days now, and lo and behold, I have lost almost 15 pounds!!!!
I have been exercising every day with my husband and we still have fabulous (but healthy) dinners. I have managed to change my life and, more importantly, my outlook on life in a little over a month. It has not been easy (nothing truly worth it ever is)! I’ve worked out almost everyday and watched what I ate and now my results are starting to pay off. Most of my friends have asked us what we have been doing to get these results (Kenin is down almost 25 pounds too). When I tell them that we started a meal replacement program to challenge myself over the next 90 days, they balk. That is understandable! It took me over 10-years to take this step. When you get to a certain point of frustration, it is easy to just say “Well, I’ve tried it all and nothing works”. I’ve realized that this is the biggest copout, one that even I was guilty of. Then I met the 90-Day Challenge and decided to give it a go. I wasn’t going to say I tried everything until I actually tried everything! Now, after my first 55 days, I feel like a new person and I am ready to slaughter the next 45 days and rock my challenge, and myself, to new heights. I am ready for a newer, healthier, thinner me!
